As of 2016, toner cartridges, ink cartridges, and toner powder fall under the classification of electrical waste and must therefore be disposed of correctly. This not only helps the environment, but also helps you adhere to the most recent waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) recycling laws.
The European Commission have more information on WEEE here
Do you recycle everything that you’re required to by law?
Anything with this symbol, i.e. your television, microwave, TONER CARTRIDGES, and INK CARTRIDGES (as of 2016) MUST be recycled correctly. Users of any electrical equipment with the crossed-out wheelie bin must recycle the item(s) independently of their other waste. – It isn’t suitable to be recycled normally with your regular household waste. This helps prevent the negative consequences for the environment and human health.
Luckily, there’s no need to fret over what to do with used toner and ink cartridges. Let Green Agenda handle it for you.
